BLUE LAKE & KOSCIUSZKO PEAK
one night / two days

DAY ONE
Negotiate stepping stones across the famous Snowy River and climb a paved walkway to Blue Lake with ridge lines of Australia's highest peaks looming above. The ancient Blue Lake cirque, a natural crater formed by an inexorable combination of gravity and ice, is surrounded by boulder-sized chunks of granite. Return to a fully catered campsite in the heart of Australia's true alpine terrain and relax - campsite staff will look after the chores.

DAY TWO
Trek away and leave the dishes, there's summitting to be done! From camp the trail follows the Old Summit Road to Rawson's Pass before winding its way up to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko via the fortified stone shelter, ‘Seamans Hut.' Break at Mt Kosciuszko summit for lunch, pass by Australia's highest glacial lake and cross the headwaters of the Snowy River. MULTIPEAK & GLACIAL LAKES
one night / two days

DAY ONE
Follow a meandering trail from Guthega Village through sub-alpine terrain to a suspension bridge crossing the mighty Snowy River. A continuous 4km ascent leads to the shoulder of Mt Twynam, the country's third highest peak. From here a 360-degree view of the Main Range is revealed. Descend into the upper Blue Lake cirque and onwards to the deep, cold waters of the lake itself. Back on track we cross the Snowy River again and head to base camp where infield comforts await.

DAY TWO
Depart base camp following the Old Summit Road to Rawson's Pass before reaching the summit of Mt Kosciuszko via the fortified stone shelter, ‘Seamans Hut.' On return, descend to glacial Lake Cootapatamba via South Kosciuszko Ridge and climb to the high ground of the Ramsheads where stacks of granite boulders stand precariously perched. Join the Dead Horse Gap track that winds past the rocky peaks of the southern end of the Main Range and descends through snow gum forests to your pick up point. Keep an eye out for Brumbies.
